“I bought a LG SK10Y soundbar the supports 4k pass through and HDMI ARC. Should I connect the Apple 4k directly to the soundbar or to the 4k LG OLED TV?”

I use the ARC HDMI slot on my TV and sound-bar without any problems. It worked instantly when I plugged in the HDMI cable. In fact, it works so well that I never have to turn off/on each device individually. I just turn off/on my Apple TV and both the TV and sound bar detect the video source and turn off/on automatically.

If you have enough hdmi inputs on tv then go with that.

Never use ARC if you can help it - it’s a terrible standard that rarely works well, and frequently doesn’t work at all.

@ Nick , If connected directly to the TV, wouldn't the HD sound pass through the HDMI ARC connection?

Directly to the Soundbar (APPLE 4KHD) that way you get the True HD High Quality Sound, Good luck !
