• I got the Apple USB-C to headphone jack adapter to function with Apple wired earbuds (Volume +/- , Pause/Play) and my Android device. In your music app, look for the setting to disable the software DAC or not access USB. Turning off direct access to USB should force the app to use the hardware DAC in the Apple dongle. In my case, I have an Essential PH-1 phone running Android 9 P July 2019 update. My music app is FiiO for Android.
