Is this powered by a battery that can be changed null

It can be changed by Apple at a cost of $79, possibly cheaper by some of the 3rd party phone repair shops. I would not recommend a consumer attempt it as it requires advanced skills and tools that most wouldn't have readily available (ie heating pad) and would likely cost more than $79.
