Yes, any apple product that is bought has a free 1-year warranty through apple!

It doesn’t include Apple Care at all. It has a 1 year manufacturers warranty but it won’t cover anything Apple deams “mishandling”. My screen spontaneously combusted about 3 weeks after I purchased it. Intuaklf when I called Apple they made it sound like it was no big deal, swollen battery etc, However, once they received the watch they said it was obviously physically damaged. Thankfully I finally spoke to someone who was understanding of the situation and had me send it back in for replacement. I haven’t had any issues with it since. But, I would highly suggest the Apple Care just in case! I believe it’s going up in cost to $79 this month so better get it soon.
