“I am trying to figure out if the Apple Watch series 3 (non LTE) is compatible with an iPhone 6? I have read conflicting info, including a new update on the watch is only compatible with an iPhone 6S or higher. Anybody know for sure? Thank you in advance.”

Yes it is. I used to have an iPhone 6 when I bought mine. I just purchased my fiancé one and he is in love. You can make calls and texts through this unlike the Fitbit.
