“Are there two different thicknesses of the boxes? My box seems the be thinner than others that I have seen. I have also seen that the thinner boxes only come with a charging cable and not a block.”

With the new Apple Watch the box is thinner yes and you do not get the charging block you get the cable. That it ☹️
