• No, but you might be better off with a dedicated heart rate monitor band, will certainly be cheaper than a watch and an iPhone to go with it.

• No! This is easy to use and will keep heart and fitness information. You can set goals to Exercise and keep track of your progress. I think you will love this device and you can look up anything on you tube for videos on how to use the watch.
