• The Apple Watch series 3, GPS does not require a data plan. You will log in to your Apple ID on your watch so it connects to your phone and the data plan that you use on your phone. If you want your Apple Watch to work away from your phone, you can buy the Apple Watch series 3, Cellular. The Cellular Apple Watch does require you to purchase a cellular data plan with it.
