• If you want to replace your 42mm Apple Series 3 watch band you must replace it with a 42mm band (and visa versa). The 42mm watch face is bigger than the the 38mm. I assume the 38mm band will fit into the 42mm watch, but it will not reach the ends of the watch and might not look right or "lock into place".
