No, the watch is not waterproof.

This is excellent question! Yes, this fitness watch is waterproof but NON-diving watch. I wear it when showering, swimming, and doing like dishes. However, this watch will NOT stay underneath water for a long period of time and deep water depth. There are watches made for swimmers, divers. They usually cost significant amount of money. If you do lots of water activities, especially diving, this watch is not for you. I've had for one month and swim laps. It does everything for me health-wise but doesn't have the EKG monitor; this is on series Apple series #4. I look at it this way. It's an investment in my health. I had the FitBit prior to this watch. It just doesn't compare, but I had to watch dollars. The more I became determined to become healthy, the more that I needed the Apple watch. It's not about fashion but fitness, health. Please, feel free to inquire more. Lastly, review the entire notes about each Apple watch. It is time consuming but helpful to read what each watch can do.
