• No u don’t need a plan it works on WiFi or blu tooth

• It depends on which one you get, if you get the WiFi model, it will only Bluetooth connect to your phone, if you get the gps + cellular model, you have the option to activate it, in which case it will require it’s own line on your plan, however you don’t have to activate it
