So technically yes it does work through WiFi. As long as your cellphone is within distance of the Apple Watch you’ll get the notifications and features. The celllular plan allows you to use your Apple Watch to recieve calls and texts without your iPhone you also have to pay for that cellular plan so it really adds up. I honestly never leave without my iPhone so the cellular plan really isn’t worth it to me. Hope this helps.

Yes. Your watch can be used via Bluetooth with your phone. Your phone must be within range of your watch to work.
