I don’t know the exact range, but I had a good experience with the Apple 1 watch & distance from the phone. At my daughter’s house I had an ATT iPhone. Usually I had no signal or the phone would ring & I could say a few words before the call dropped. I could not carry on a conversation for much longer outside in the driveway or backyard. I purchased a new Apple Watch when they first came out. I did not know all the features - I knew it did text & I knew it would vibrate & ring, but thought it was because my phone was in my purse next to me. A couple of days after I got the watch, I was upstairs at my daughter’s house. My watch started ringing, but my purse was downstairs. I was not even sure if I could talk on the watch, but pressed the green icon & cautiously said hello to my arm. It was my brother calling from Arkansas, which did not always have a great signal. I told him I am talking through my watch at the house where I never have a signal, so may have to call you back tonight. After he went, “You are talking through a watch?”, we talked for almost 30 minutes. I felt so cool, like some secret agent. Obviously I had bought the watch as a new gadget, but clearly had not spent time learning the features. It was the longest & clearest conversation I had at their house without WiFi calling. Later I brought the phone upstairs, thinking it might work better up there, but it always worked better through the watch. Not sure why it worked better. I had other conversations at my house in the backyard with the phone inside the house. We keep a landline because the cell signal is not great at our house. Hope this helps.
