Apple Watch 5 comes in 44mm and 40mm case size -- buy a band that fits the CASE SIZE, which isn't the band width. There's a "collar" on the band that latches to the full width of the case and narrows down to the actual band width. The stainless steel Apple bands for 44mm case appear to be 22mm wide, plus/minus a mm. Best Buy and elsewhere have lots of non-Apple bands in any reasonable material you can imagine, with various band widths.
