• Hi James, The answer to your question is YES! That’s one of the main reasons I waited for the version 3 Apple Watch was the capability to be untethered to the phone. I’ve also recently upgraded to the 5 (which I LOVE btw) and I love being able to work out, go on a long run, and leave my phone behind but still have my music.

• yeah you can, as long as the watch is connected by bluetooth to your phone.
