You have to buy the Apple Watch that has cellular capabilities which will then work without your phone with you. Verizon will charge you $ 10.00 per month to add this service plus a one time activation fee. The Apple Watch without cellular will work as a GPS without your phone with you. If you have a phone with you it works like the cellular model. There is no fee from Verizon Best Buy will get it all set up with your Verizon account for you. One stop shop!
