• You need to go to consumer cellular for that answer. Having cellular service is not a must for Apple Watches.

• I did not go through my cellphone carrier to use this watch. I already owned an iPhone so that may have made it even easier to sync watch and phone.

• You can actually purchase the watch without using a carrier. As long as you can access your Apple ID you don’t need to connect this to a line.
