Is this watch compatible with an jPhone 8? null

Yeah, as long as it is updated to the latest ios

I had the iphone X that was fully updated and this watch would not sync to it. The error I kept getting was that it needed an iphone XS or newer and mine was one model too old

No , I have 8 plus . You will not get all features and watch will not sync very well .
