No trick to it I just make sure to hold the watch against my side until I can grab the end through the buckle. It does hold VERY well when buckled.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You are correct. It is difficulty at first. I have to put the watch against my chest, then place the band in the buckle to tighten slowly. And be careful not to drop. And take off, reverse the procedure.

The separate buckle needs to be opened and slide an open end of the buckle into one of the side holes of the watch band that works for you. What I originally did was slide the watch band through the buckle itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The only approach I have found is pulling the band tight and flicking the metal ring with a tiny screwdriver. It loosens up after a while. The water band is great but designed to fit over a wet suit. Not conducive for regular clothes.
