The sound output is adjustable. It can get pretty loud but you can adjust it all the way down to silent.

Sound out put is great. Loud enough for the ones playing for sure. I have 3 boys and i can keep a game of life going no problem with 4 other adults. It's great for all ages. To put it this way. My kids are teenagers all 3 boys. And this got them off the Xbox and playstation at least a few night's a week. We have game night. Love this table.
