It's very picky with controllers. Nothing is officially mentioned on their website. The only official use for the USB port is for firmware updates that Arcade1Up could potentially release if needed. I have seen people online stating that the Xbox One controller works, and it works with a Bluetooth adapter as well. Also saw some people starting that they got the Switch Pro Controller to work after using an adapter. But not much luck with other controllers.

You can use any controller with a USB plug in. Seen many people on YouTube using a fight stick or regular gaming controller. You will probably have to adjust the button settings in the menu selection.
