Yes. I just talked with Arlo because I've had the same question/issue. They assured me this does not need the hub.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Arlo Chime 2 is compatible with Arlo Audio Doorbell. Also, it connects directly to your WiFi router so it does not an Arlo SmartHub. ^RM
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Except that it DOESN’T actually work… at all. After enduring literal hours of frustrating setup issues, I’m in the process of returning both the Chime 2 and Audio doorbell that I bought last week. No, it wasn’t my wifi, or my router, or some mysterious setting on my end that I couldn’t change. It’s that Arlo’s products DO NOT WORK. I’m sure some underpaid software engineer really wanted it to, but someone at Arlo is intent on releasing poorly developed products to try and cash in on the smart home revolution. This was seriously the all-time worst experience I’ve ever had with any product PERIOD. Their software is fraught with issues and just plain doesn’t work. Go look at their community message boards if you won’t take my word for it. Also, anytime a “tech” company has a “product support community” that means they don’t actually have any real tech support, and it is actually part of their strategy to have the consumer chase their own tail around B.S. forums to try and figure out why Arlo’s garbage products don’t work. The Arlo ecosystem will not be around for much longer. Not when Amazon, Google, Apple, and a few others have vastly superior products. Bottom Line: avoid Arlo products. You have been warned!
