• Yes, you can bypass the existing wired old transformer by using the Arlo Wire-Free Video Doorbell with the Arlo Chime 2.

• Yes, you should be able to. While the transformer was not my issue (Arlo was never able to resolve my problem for some unknown reason), I finally bought this chime and it works quite well.
