You do not need to subsrcibe to Arlo. The light will activate the camera and will save in the free cloud storage.

These are not cameras. They are only lights with a sensor. You do not need to subscribe to Arlo. They will hold your camera recordings for 7 days for free. You can download the videos during this time frame. The motion sensor will trigger a camera to record.

It does not record anything ..these devices do create an event that is alerted via app to the user at no additional charge or subscription fee. it is a awesome security spotlight with alerts day or night.
