• Yes the audio is 2-way. You can talk thru the camera and hear what's going on on the other side as well.

• Yes you can speak through the units. This feature seems quirky and I would look elsewhere if that is the main function you are looking for. The base does have an alarm, that is very loud, that you can remotely set off to scare anyone away though.
