Yes, the camera is cordless/wireless. It has rechargeable batteries and you can choose to have it plugged in or not, but you will want to use this system wireless. That is one of the advantages of this system. And there are options to add additional services, but the system does not require any paid subscriptions or any monthly payments to provide a great security system.

The traffic is "light" where I've mounted the other two, so I only have to charge them once every couple of months.There is no subscription needed if you are good with the one week cloud storage which comes with the purchase.

I would highly recommend buying one extra battery to have on hand so if a camera battery goes down you can immediately replace it and keep your security in place. It depends on how long you want to keep your videos as to whether you pay a subscription fee or not.

It uses a rechargeable battery and connects to your network via Wi-Fi. They offer 7-days free cloud storage (based on motion detection only, not 24x7 recording.) I believe you can upgrade and pay for more storage or possibly continuous recording, but you should research this yourself online or call Netgear to see what options they have. My base station would not detect at all so I'm returning the system for my money back.
