“How big a router and how much internet is needed to run this system? Putting it in for my 87 year old mother and she has neither. Need to know where to start.”

You will need internet access, a smartphone to run the app, and a wireless network for this product to be used to it's fullest. I don't think it uses much bandwidth so most of the ISP offers out there should work (ATT, Xfinity, etc.)
