Please try again later.yes the cloud service is an optional additional charge. if you plan to monitor the cameras yourself you don't need it. there is a geofencing option that i use where every time i leave a certain radius from my house the system automatically kicks on. i have noticed that there is some delay from when motion detection kicks on and when i receive my alert on my cell phone but im usually miles away when this happens. the video has time stamps and automatically saves in your library until your free cloud space is full which in my case has been a few weeks of recordings but i dont get alot of activity around my home. id imagine more active areas to last alot less.
