“Can you record directly to a NAS or do you have to go through the cloud? If it must route through the cloud can it auto dump to my NAS? I have a 16TB with plenty free space to record. I plan to record wildlife as well as security.”

The Arlo system saves recorded videos in the cloud. You can not setup NAS with the system to store the videos locally. ^RM
