“To clarify, do you have to pay for a subscription monthly to store your footage or can you hook it to a dvr or other storage device of your own? I’m confused about this part. Thanks”

The Arlo Pro 3 system comes with an Arlo Smart trial. When the trial expires, you have the option to purchase an Arlo Smart subscription. Without an Arlo Smart subscription, you can still add up to 5 cameras to your Arlo account, live stream, and receive motion and audio notifications. ^RM
