The hex key is supposed to separate the camera and battery from the plastic housing. You insert it, turn to the right, and it "pops" after which the front is supposed to separate from the housing. It does not. Whoever said "easy peasy" must not have had the camera up for long, because it does not pop out easily after it's been up a few weeks. If you're trying to figure it out in your hands on your kitchen table right out of the box, sure, works like a charm. If you're on a ladder on your front porch and it "pops" but doesn't "pop out" you are stuck. Not the only one with this issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera and battery are together in one part, and the camera housing acts as a protective shell in a second part. Replacing the batteries requires you to remove the camera from the camera housing Press the button next to the charging port underneath the camera and pulling the camera until it is entirely removed from the camera housing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The kit comes with a key that pops the camera out of the housing and allows you to switch the battery packs out in about 5 seconds. Once the new one is in, just slide it back in the housing easy peasy.
