• No, they record when the motion sensor is triggered. You can set them to record when a person, animal, car, or any movement. It lets you know if it is a person or car etc.. you set itt to not be triggered by cars or animals etc. You can even set it to watch certain areas in the field of view. One of my favorite settings is it will zoom in on movement so you can see exactly what is going on.
