I am using my Netgear R7000 and it works just fine. These Arlo camera's do not handle 5.0ghz, only 2.4ghz. You probably already know that but I have been having trouble using my own at times. Turns out that I had my VPN running when I could not connect with my cam's outside of my home. Ironic since in order to use the Arlo router, they require a VPN. Insensible to say the least. I would recommend you stick with a brand name router and while I prefer Netgear, some of my friends use other brands and even they have their share of glitches. Nothing is perfect but the Geek squad can help you pick a router that is compatible and assist in setting it up. I have had times when my camera display a symbol with no label and they stop working. It took me awhile to figure out that was due to a required update and each camera did the update at it's own pace. I hope this helps.
