• You need wired internet connected to the Arlo Base station. The Arlo base station then transmits a WiFi signal to the cameras. So, no you don't need WiFi but yoy do need internet at the Arlo Base Station.

• Yes. They are 'wireless' and only communicate with wi-fi.
