Check With Verizon, They are now marketing a unit that is called a "Smart Hub" it has a wi fi access point, hard wired either net port and a telephone port. I have use all three types of ports for security use and if you have a good data link to Verizon, it should work well. It includes a backup battery but the back up only backs up the phone. But a computer back up supply would work well.
