I do not recommend this system for you with that kind of heat, as they do have heat sensors in them, and as you mentioned that may shorten battery life. This system is very cheap and works sporadically anyway, I do NOT recommend it. I got ripped off in spite of the cameras, they hacked into the system and erased all their photos. A nanny cam at best, with NO sound. A big pile of junk that cost me 10k in product, and seed stock for next yr.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We returned our Arlo because after two weeks after setting it up, the battery life just plummeted. With four batteries in four cameras, we changed our mind and went with a wired system. We definitely thought the heat was a factor. We also live in the Phoenix area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a 2nd home in Tucson. I installed 4 cameras outside in different locations around the property in February. The cameras have been operational in our absence for about 5 months now. They have worked perfectly. One of the camera's batteries expired about 10 days ago. That is still about 4 months of life. The other 3 cameras have 85-90% battery life remaining. 3 of the cameras are not in direct sunlight. One is above a garage door facing west. Lots of sun and heat on it. It still has 85% battery life remaining. It even has the black skin on it. Very happy with the system.
