All the video is stored in the cloud (up to 1 gb) for one week at no additional cost. You can pay an additional monthly fee to keep it longer and add capacity.

Of course you can rent more for a monthly fee. When storage is full it will overwrite oldest files. Best Buy sales guy said I could change it to my personal cloud when I get one, but no instructions on how to do it.

There are also settings for what to do when the storage is full. You can see how many recordings took place from a certain camera, and you can see all recording organized by the day they were captured. I have not tried looking back before one month but I have gone back to see prior month's recording if they were in the past few weeks (maybe 30 days max).
