It will still function, however, as Chrome continues to release updates and the device does not, many websites will not work properly due to the fact that the outdated software does not include necessary security updates. Planned obsolescence.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.After the AUE, the Chromebooks functionalities, applications and services will work as is, except that the OS auto-update will stop. The Chrome OS is running and booting up from the Cloud means, that it is not installed locally from the Chromebook and the OS starts or boots up from the Cloud server and functionalities will remain the same and will work properly.
