I just had to turn on Wi-Fi and put in my password just like you would for your smartphone, no charge. I guess if you have internet service in your home it's easy. The laptop can use any service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Chromebooks operate without a hard drive. In order to get started, you need a wired wifi set up. So you would need to have wifi in your home, from some service company, like comcast (what I have), or ATT, Verizon, sprint, or the like. Generally, a quick call to your local provider will get you the absolute info you need, such as how many lines, where the router/modem will be located, how much the monthly fee is. In other words, the same company who provides your cable would also provide your internet connection. The nice thing about chromebooks is versatility. When out and about, you can take it with, and find out where free wifi is located, using the free wifi data....Starbucks usually has free wifi for customers. Hope this helps.
