It depends on your cable modem. This router requires a modem with atleast a gigabit port to prevent a speed mismatch between the two. I had to return an older modem to buy one with a 1000 port. A 10/100 port on a modem will not work well. Not sure how well it works with their big modem/wifi combo but it should work fine as long as that device is in bridge mode.
