Yup, that's the intended use. Connect the HDMI to a TV and a wireless mouse/keyboard dongle on the USB and go crazy

The USB-A 2.0 can be used for data and/or power delivery up to 5w, which comes out of the 65w total power for the charger block (i.e. the USB-C will only provide 60w of PD to the laptop/handheld instead of 65w, if the USB-A is use for PD).

The USB port can be used for most accessories like a mouse, keyboards, headset or controller.

It can do both. So yes with the USB A port you can put a dongle for mouse/keyboard or headphones. I got the Asus ROG cetra gaming earbuds to prevent it from taking up that spot, they fit nicely and gave a gaming mode. Can also update them with the armoury crate app on your phone.
