• It would have to be a Docsis 3.1 cable modem, capable of transmitting over 300 Mbps high speed internet to be effective.

• This router will work with any modem made within the past 7 years and more. There’s no real answer to which modem will work best with a router. They will pretty much work all the same. Your speed that you’re purchasing from your ISP will determine how well your modem and router work for you.

• I use the arris sb8200. To take advantage of xfinity’s or any other cable providers higher speeds, you need a docsis 3.1 modem.
