- Answer for a modem 3 years is okay assuming its Docsis 3.0 or later. Check your modems rated speed and make sure it can handle the connection speed your paying for

- Answer Whatever you're paying for internet is the only thing you have to pay. You own the router.. You hook this up to your modem and you're good to go. No extra fees. Not even for the parental controls.

QuestionCan you set this up as a slave router? We need an access point / switch, since our main router is assigning IPs. I don't know if there is a device like that out there, but a wifi router set up as slave works.
