You can add satellites to this router but the 8 it is talking about is the included antennas.  This only inlcudes the router pictured.

There are no satellites included. It's very misleading. I picked mine up just a over a week ago. It has 8 antennas on it with no separate mesh satellites included.

There are no mesh units with this product, it's only the single router.

If you mean satellite routers in a mesh system, then the answer is no, just this router. I believe the confusion is in the specs. The router can handle up to 8 satellites(?) but satellites must be purchased separately. I have this as the main router and 2 ASUS AX routers that I already own set up as satellites in the AI Mesh system.

so the Satellites in question here are the 8 fins  as seen in the picture. Yes they come attached to the unit with no assembly required. 
There are NO REMOTE SATELLITES.
BEFORE you leave to go and pick it up CONFIRM that the store has it on hand. I have had issues with BB and their supply chain
