“For installing an extra M.2 SSD drive, is there enough space for the drive to use a heatsink? Or is there thermal tape that'd go over the drive? M.2 drives get rather hot, just want to know how heat would be dissipated from any extra M.2 drive added.”

Yes, there is a limited space or clearance so ensure the heatsink doesn't exceed the clearance. Yes, a thermal tape can be installed on the SSD card to improve heat dissipation.
