Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually, but not always, a TV, smart or not, may have a USB interface. That is where your Chrome Cast, or some other device plugs into the TV.? Some non Smart TV have them too. Same interface. I have both, and have never thought to use a WiFi dongle on either. Why not? Most TV's have more than one HDMI interface? Yeah. Well, if you do have WiFi available, buy a cheap Roku, they can be had for a few bucks, or less on sale, than a good WiFi dongle. With more Viewing options, plus Netflix is a one button option on the remote controller. And that controller just may work on your TV as well, power on / volume etc. I use my Asus wifi adapter for my desktop PC's. A Roku stick, or cheap set side unit, is usually cheaper than the wifi only adapter. And has wiFi built in. Notice: if the Asus, or any of the, small USB adapters, begins to run hot, the connection will be dropped. The Roku does not have that problem. Think about NOT limiting your TV / Streaming options, got WiFi? Make the most of it. Roku /Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple device.
