The RAM has the ability to run "up to" 2666mhz, but it is most likely set to run at 2400mhz for stability. You could try overclocking the ram and adjusting timings if you have the time to learn about it. But the difference in performance will be negligible between 2400 and 2666. This is pretty standard for RAM to run just below its top speeds.
