• The two answer stating that ASUS lied are incorrect. I added 16gb for a total of 20 gb, and everything works.

• The above answers are incorrect. In actuality, there is 4 GB on the motherboard and the slot has a maximum capacity of 12GB. However as no one makes a 12 gb board, so you are maxed at 12 GB. ASUS lies!

• The RAM is upgradeable up a maximum of 20GB, 4GB soldered on the motherboard and a slot that supports up to 16GB.

• Look for this model on one of the websites of RAM manufacturers, such as Crucial, Kingston, etc. It is in their interest for you to buy as much memory as possible from them, and for you to be happy with the purchase (returns cost them money, happy customers do the opposite). This is the best way to find what and how much additional RAM you can install. Beware, though, that many "consumer"-oriented laptps (as opposed to those directed toward the business market) will void your warranty if any upgrades are performed by non-licensed technicians. If you are comfortable with this (I am), there is nothing to stop you.
