Good question that is why I bought this DVD Drive, currently the DVD's I burn will only play on the DVD drive / Computer and not on the DVD player but there are several things you can try to get it to play on a DVD player see the link below https://www.lifewire.com/dvd-playback-troubleshooting-1081787
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this would depend on the type of file your video is and whether your DVD player is capable of playing that file type. as an alternative you can use an hdmi cord to connect your computer to a tv so you can watch your home movies on a larger screen.
