A:AnswerI set mine to answer after 3 rings. It works. You have to set the volume also. My was set pretty high. So I had to lower it. I just bought it yesterday, so I'm still learning. Check your manual for volume adjustment and setting ring pick up.

A:AnswerAm not sure what you mean by announce only. I am not too good with technology and am starting to learn to use the phone. When I get a call and there is a caller id the machine says a call from say California and one of the cordless phones says that too. I only have only in use haven't done the other. Hope this helps.
